Willow-Witt Ranch was a pause in an otherwise active vacation in northern California and southern Oregon. We rented the Meadow House, and didn’t leave the ranch for two days. It was glorious. Suzanne gave us a wonderful tour of the facilities, from the goat milking to the chickens out in the fields (where we collected hatfuls of eggs) to the various buildings and all the projects they had going on (like building extra seating for a wedding that weekend). We bought supplies from their store and cooked perfectly simple meals.
Our kids fell in love with the goats and went each morning to help feed the youngest ones and help herd them to their daytime pasture, and then stayed there playing with them for ages. It was a treat to be able to just let them go have their fun, without needing to be right next to them or even be able to see them. They were seriously sad to say goodbye to the other type of kids when we left.
Sitting on the porch of the meadow house at sunset and watching the colors change on the large meadow was the perfect end to the peaceful days. Our whole trip was wonderful, but this place definitely was magical!
