Activities in the Area
Southern Oregon abounds in activities for many interests.
The following links guide you to a few options.
Disc Golf:
Frog Creek at Shale City Road
Just outside the gate to Willow-Witt Ranch is a beautifully forested and challenging 18-hole tone course. It is on public land in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, a site reserved for fun. Visit Frog Creek DGC @ Shale City – Disc Golf Course Review for more information.

Biking
The Cascade-Siskiyou Scenic Bikeway is a challenging ride for any cyclist. Shale City Road is a paved BLM loop connecting to Dead Indian Memorial Road at the 13-mile and 7-mile markers. Willow-Witt Ranch is on this loop and allows you to skip some of the least interesting mileage on Dead Indian Memorial Road on your trip back into Ashland.
Stop by our Farm Store for refreshments and cold, clear spring water, or plan an overnight stay at one of our Furnished Wall Tents; all you need to carry is your clothing. Ashland also has an extensive trail system for mountain biking. Pick up a guide to Ashland trails in our Farm Store.
Sightseeing
Crater Lake National Park (shown at top of page), the only National Park in Oregon, is a day trip from Willow-Witt Ranch.
Oregon Caves National Monument is a “cool” place to visit on a hot day!
Nearby lakes for swimming, boating, fishing, and other watersports include Lake of the Woods, Fish Lake (shown here), Emigrant Lake, Howard Prairie Lake and Hyatt Lake. The Rogue River, Klamath River, and Umpqua River are each well known for fishing hotspots, and the Rogue and Klamath Rivers for rafting.
Visit the Ashland Chamber of Commerce for the latest on what’s happening in Ashland and nearby towns.
Come Stay!
Bring your family and/or friends together for a special weekend or weeklong stay — a world away — at Willow-Witt Ranch.
Our Farm Stays and Campground can be rented separately or together to accommodate the ages and number of people in your party. Self-guided farm tours, using our laminated map of marked hiking trails, are an option to learn about the property. We can help you arrange catering for a farm dinner. Hike on the ranch or nearby trails and enjoy other activities on the ranch. Or simply spend time together.
