Subtle shifts seem to suddenly crescendo into an orchestra of spring notes this time of year. Garlic has begun to sprout in the garden, goat milk production is on the rise, the chickens are laying more eggs, and the ducks have a little extra spring in their step, as well as a lot to gossip about.
Although snow is a welcome part of this season on the ranch (and we hope for more), the ground is swiftly becoming varying shades of green, dotted with purple wildflowers. The cycle of adding to and turning compost now culminates in fertility for seedlings. Water fills the wetlands and willow cuttings wait for loving hands to plant them on the land.
