Meet Marion Cascio, Our New Market Assistant
We are thrilled to welcome Marion Cascio as our new Market Assistant for 2014. Marion grew up in Germany living and working in the food industry through her parent’s restaurant. She did an apprenticeship in fine French cuisine and hotel management and has worked at several restaurants and spas in Germany.
Marion moved to the United States and landed in Big Sur, CA in 1997. It was there that she created an off the farm and homestead with her former husband. They raised chickens, bees and goats and managed extended gardens growing vegetables, herbs, olive trees and fruit trees. Marion also worked as a chef at Esalen Institute in Big Sur for five years.
Marion moved to Ashland in 2009 looking for a more urban place to live and express her talent and joy for good food. She works here as a baker, personal chef and caterer. Marion is dedicated to using fresh local organic produce in all of her meals.
“It is my passion to educate and inspire people about good food and where it comes from. Willow Witt Farm reminds me at my own farm in Big Sur and the joy to live close to nature and in rhythm with the surroundings and animals” says Marion.
